Our suggested cycle routes around Drumsna
Lots of lovely routes to choose from. All mainly on quiet roads. All giving you an opportunity to explore this beautiful county.
The route maps and section details are available to download and print off in advance.
We will also provide a few copies at the festival.
These are self-led rides so you choose the time of departure, the pace, the snack breaks and where and when to stop for photos of lovely Leitrim!
Drumsna-Sheemore loop – 24.5km
This is easily one of my favourite cycles. The views from the top of Sheemore are stunning and the leafy roads on this cycle are deliciously green!

Drumsna-Carrick-Jamestown loop – 16.3km
This route takes you into Carrick where you can enjoy a spot of shopping, a good coffee or a delicious lunch in any of the many cafes and restaurants in town.
The route we’ve chosen includes a few hills but an alternative would be to cycle on the N4 for a few miles – not quite as pleasant but a lot flatter!

Drumsna-Leitrim Village-Drumshanbo Loop – 41km
This is another stunning route. It includes a section of blueway along the Shannon-Erne Canal between Leitrim Village and Drumshanbo – both of which have lovely cafes and hotels for lunch stops. This route also includes the boardwalk across Acres Lake known locally as ‘the snake across the lake’ with fab views of Sliabh an Iarainn as you approach Drumshanbo.

Not a loop but a little cycle to Jamestown where you could stop for a picnic on the quay or wander round the village before turning back to Drumsna for more festivities.
